Meta Muse Charm Brings A Keychain-Sized AI Assistant To Users’ Fingertips

Meta is expanding its push into consumer AI hardware with Muse Charm, a small wearable designed to give users direct access to the company’s recently launched Muse personal AI agent. Meta introduced Muse in September 2026 as an AI agent capable of handling tasks across the web and connected services.

CEO Mark Zuckerberg revealed Muse Charm during Meta Connect on September 23, presenting the device as a surprise addition to the company’s latest hardware lineup. The compact gadget can be carried in a pocket or attached to a keychain, with a small display showing the AI’s animated avatar. Meta has not yet announced a price, while Zuckerberg said the company was still finalizing the hardware before shipment.

Zuckerberg said the device is expected to reach customers during the holiday season in December. He also described Muse Charm as a way to access the full Muse experience without opening an app or unlocking a phone.

Meta Muse Charm Uses A Tiny Display And Fingerprint Sensor

Muse Charm is built around portability, allowing users to keep Meta’s Muse agent readily accessible throughout the day. The device features a small screen displaying a digital character associated with Muse, while a fingerprint sensor provides a direct way to begin a conversation.

“We packed the whole Muse experience, including the whole real-time voice and avatar stack, into something that fits on a keychain and is always available to talk to,” Zuckerberg said during Wednesday’s keynote. “You just go ahead and tap here in the fingerprint sensor in the corner, and you can start talking without having to unlock a phone or open an app.”

The design is intended to make interaction with Muse more immediate. Rather than reaching for a smartphone, users can tap the device and start speaking to the AI.

Zuckerberg added: “So if you’re not wearing glasses, this is going to be by far the fastest way to talk to your Muse and to show what’s going on around you.”

Meta Connect 2026 Reveals New Muse AI Hardware

The announcement comes less than a month after Meta introduced Muse as its personal AI agent. Meta says Muse can perform tasks such as browsing the web, making purchases, creating documents, generating images and working with connected apps and services, while users retain control over permissions and critical actions.

Muse Charm extends that software experience into a dedicated physical device. Its small screen and animated character give the hardware a more playful appearance than a conventional voice assistant, with TechCrunch describing the concept as similar to a modern Tamagotchi.

The company has not yet provided all of the commercial details for Muse Charm. Reporting following the announcement indicates that pricing and some hardware specifications have not been finalized, while Meta is targeting the December holiday period for shipments.

Meta Muse Charm Targets Fast Access To Personal AI

Muse Charm gives Meta another hardware-based route for delivering its personal AI agent beyond smartphones and smart glasses. Meta also announced at Connect that Muse is coming to its AI glasses, broadening the ways users can access the service.

For now, Muse Charm remains a pre-release device rather than an immediately available consumer product. Meta’s current target is to have the wearable ready for the holiday season, with further details expected as the company moves closer to launch.
