God Of War Laufey Release Date Confirmed For PS5 As Santa Monica Studio Reveals Franchise Plans

The next chapter in the God of War series is officially on the way, with God of War Laufey scheduled to launch exclusively for PlayStation 5 on February 16 next year.
The release date was confirmed during a San Diego Comic-Con panel and through PlayStation's official social media channels. The upcoming title shifts the spotlight away from Kratos, placing his wife, Laufey (Faye), at the center of the story as she journeys through the afterlife of the gods following her death in God of War Ragnarök.

Fans have yet to get their hands on the game, but anticipation has continued to build since an earlier gameplay preview showcased Faye's fast-paced combat style, including aerial attacks, magical abilities, and battles against previously unseen gods and creatures.
God Of War Laufey Gameplay Puts Faye At The Center Of The Action

A gameplay teaser released about a month before the launch date announcement highlighted her fluid combat techniques, with Faye slicing through enemies midair while combining melee attacks with powerful magic.
Santa Monica Studio Confirms Another Kratos Game Is In Development
Although God of War Laufey is currently available only to wishlist, Santa Monica Studio also shared more news about the future of the franchise during San Diego Comic-Con.
According to IGN, the developer confirmed that another Kratos-led God of War game is planned to follow the release of God of War Laufey, ensuring that the longtime protagonist will return after Faye's standalone adventure.
For now, players can add God of War Laufey to their wishlist as they wait for its February 16 launch on PlayStation 5.
