Disney And TikTok Partner To Bring Fan-Created Vertical Videos To Disney+

Disney and TikTok have announced a new partnership that will allow selected TikTok creators to publish Disney-themed vertical videos on Disney+, expanding the streaming platform's growing collection of short-form content.
The initiative builds on Disney's Verts feature, a TikTok-style section introduced within the Disney+ app in March. At launch, the company indicated that it intended to expand the feature to include content produced by fans, and the latest agreement marks the next step in that plan.
The pilot programme will initially be available in the United States. Participating creators will receive access to an extensive library of Disney assets spanning hundreds of films and television series, including content from Pixar, Marvel and Star Wars. Once approved, their videos will appear on both TikTok and Disney+'s Verts feed.
Disney+ Verts To Feature Fan-Made Videos From Popular Franchises
According to Disney, content featured in Verts will be updated regularly to broaden its reach and "engage subscribers more deeply in timely fan conversations," the company said in a press release.
The collaboration is designed to bring together Disney's entertainment catalogue with TikTok's creator community, allowing fans to showcase original short-form videos inspired by some of the company's best-known franchises.
Disney Creator Ambassador Programme To Support Top TikTok Talent
Alongside the content partnership, Disney and TikTok are introducing the Disney Creator Ambassador Program, aimed at supporting standout creators on the platform.
The programme will help promote "best-in-class creators" by boosting their visibility, providing access to exclusive Disney events and offering incentives through a rewards scheme.

Disney's investment reflects TikTok's growing role in entertainment discovery. According to internal company data, users shared an average of 6.5 million film and television-related posts on TikTok each day during the previous year.
In addition, half of respondents in a company survey said videos they discovered on TikTok encouraged them to watch a film or television programme.
Pilot Launch Follows Reports Of Possible Disney+ Free Tier
The announcement also comes shortly after reports suggested Disney could be considering a free, ad-supported tier for Disney+, although the company has not confirmed those claims or indicated whether vertical video content would form part of such a service.
Disney declined to comment on those reports at the time. Meanwhile, the TikTok and Disney+ partnership is expected to begin as a pilot in the coming months, though an official launch date has yet to be announced.
